No Kings March 28th | Opinion

A few weeks ago, in a Community of Christ Beliefs class we discussed the Enduring Principles.  Some of those Principles are The Worth of All Persons, Sacredness of Creation, Unity in Diversity, the Pursuit of Peace, and the idea that All Are Called.  Today we live in a world that is more divided than ever - where the idea of ever having Peace seems like a distant dream.  We constantly see injustices every time we turn on the news as we witness the maltreatment of so much of God's Sacred Creation.  It sometimes seems things will never get better.  However, it is important to stand up against injustice whenever we see it even when it seems like a monumental task.

This upcoming weekend, we have an opportunity to do just that.  Saturday at 1 pm a demonstration will be held in Tracy Park at the corner of 9th and Gay Streets.  Co-Sponsored by Scioto Peace and Justice, our local chapter of The Fellowship of Reconciliation and by the Scioto County Democratic Party, the event will be one of many protests taking place across the nation in response to the injustices of the current administration.  Food will be provided by Maestros, and Sanctuary will have a table at the event, as well.  There will be a march to begin the event and speakers. Please consider joining us in Tracy Park at 1 pm.
