Coffee and Conversation and Cucumbers?

 Last Sunday Sanctuary Community of Christ held its monthly Coffee and Conversation.  The topic of discussion was data centers and their impacts.  With the proposed data center set to be built in Franklin Furnace, the event drew a large crowd.  The four panelists, including Eric Graf, Michelle Martin, Scott Leeth, and Patrick McDavid, discussed everything from how data centers work and their effects on the environment and utilities to the use of AI technology in Milita  Try operations to how to fight back should a data center try to come to your community.  Several congregants had comments and questions that were addressed by the panel after the presentation.  Once again, Lorry Swain organized a great session with the help of the four very knowledgeable panelists.  After such an amazing presentation, April's presenters will find it a tough act to follow but plans for the next Coffee and Conversation are already underway. 

Recently, Landen Puckett, a member of the Leadership Team, proposed the idea of beginning a monthly gardening club. A few members of the congregation liked the idea.  That was when Swain, the facilitator of Sanctuary's Coffee and Conversation, Lorry recommended that April's session be about gardening.  She suggested perhaps having a panel of three experts on gardening to share their knowledge and experience as a way to kick off the creation of the garden club.  The garden club would then meet monthly thereafter. Though the idea was newly proposed just this week, it seems like a plan.  Watch upcoming newsletters for more information on April's Coffee and Conversation and the soon-to-be-created garden club.
